100% of the proceeds of this auction will benefit Animal Companions of Las Cruces, a nonprofit 501c3 all-volunteer organization dedicated to the establishment and sustainment of a much-needed 24-hour, 7-day-a-week, 365-day-a-year emergency veterinary hospital that will serve Las Cruces and surrounding communities. Our top priority is to recruit new veterinarians to our city and region by helping expand their services through the addition of qualified staff, helping to host candidates, and providing debt relief scholarships for veterinarians committing to work here. We also work with our government entities and higher education institutions to provide incentives and quality training for veterinary staff as needed, including but not limited to advocating for limits on non-compete clauses in veterinary medicine to minimize the loss of scarce veterinary resources. We are extremely grateful to all who donated items to this auction and especially to James and Steven and NM Estate Auctions!

The items in this auction are donated by local artists, businesses and individuals, and 100% of the proceeds go to El Caldito, a Las Cruces soup kitchen. Empty Bowls is an international effort by potters to raise awareness of world hunger, raise as much money as possible for local food banks and soup kitchens, and to create lasting social change through the arts. It is coordinated around World Food Day, October 16th.
