Vintage Knoll Bertoia Diamond Chairs with Original Pink Seat Pads
This exceptional pair of Bertoia Diamond Chairs, designed by Harry Bertoia for Knoll Associates in 1952, is a true icon of mid-century modern design. Featuring sculptural white steel lattice frames and original vibrant pink seat pads, these chairs seamlessly blend functionality and artistry. The original Knoll Associates labels remain intact, confirming their authenticity and production during the 1950s.
Bertoia's innovative approach transformed industrial materials into timeless works of art, and the Diamond Chair remains a celebrated classic, featured in the permanent collections of major museums like MoMA. The rare original seat pads, tailored in striking pink vinyl, enhance the visual appeal and rarity of this set. Designed for both comfort and elegance, these chairs rest on black enameled steel rod bases, embodying the perfect balance of lightness and strength.
Whether displayed as statement pieces or added to a curated collection, these chairs represent a unique opportunity to own a piece of design history. With their striking aesthetic, exceptional craftsmanship, and provenance, they will be cherished for generations.
Condition:
Good vintage condition, with signs of age and use. The white enamel steel frames show areas of paint wear, with some chipping and minor surface rust, particularly on the edges and corners. The original removable seat pads, complete with fastening hardware, remain vibrant but show scuffing and minor wear along the edges consistent with age. Importantly, the frames are structurally intact with no breaks or significant damage. Both cushions retain their original Knoll Associates labels.
