Lladró "Columpio" No. 4867 See-Saw Figurine, Boy, Girl & Dog, Orig. Box
Lladró No. 4867 "Columpio" (See-Saw) is one of the more animated multi-figure narrative groups from the Valencia workshop — a barefoot boy flinging both arms skyward as his end of the plank rises, a girl in a soft gray bodice and flowing cream skirt anchoring the low end with focused attention, and a floppy-eared spaniel-type puppy watching from beneath the board. The composition mounts a shaped oval base finished in Lladró's characteristic pale celadon-wash glaze, and the muted matte-to-gloss palette with softly elongated features is consistent with mid-production output from the Tavernes Blanques factory. The underside carries the blue printed Lladró backstamp with crown device, "HAND MADE IN SPAIN," the ©DAISA copyright mark, and an impressed mold code reading J-23 II.
The figurine retains its original Lladró factory box, a pale blue corrugated carton packed with tissue and excelsior straw, with the model-image label intact and clearly legible: "B[rillo] 8 N.° 4867 COLUMPIO." The "Brillo" finish designation indicates the high-gloss glaze variant, as distinguished from the matte "Mate" finish sometimes offered on the same models. A handwritten price notation of $104.75 remains on the box exterior — a retail marker placing this example firmly in the 1970s–early 1980s production window, when the model was in active catalog. Finding the figurine in its original straw-packed factory carton with the price annotation intact adds provenance texture that unboxed examples lack.
CONDITION
Good. No damage to the porcelain — no chips, cracks, or repairs noted. The original factory box shows age-appropriate wear throughout: torn flaps, surface loss, and tape repairs as shown; the model-image label and price notation remain legible and intact.
