Verdigris Wrought Iron Desert Sun Wall Sculpture with Roadrunner & Saguaro
A hand-forged steel wall sculpture built around a radiant sun disc, its outer edge cut into a ring of flame-like rays that alternate long and short around the circle. Inside the disc, a desert vignette plays out in silhouette: a roadrunner mid-stride on a low branch, tail streaming behind, set against a tall multi-armed saguaro. The linework is loose and gestural, with each element welded from bent rod and flat bar into a single continuous scene.
The piece wears a soft blue-green verdigris finish over the steel, broken by areas of exposed rust and oxidation that read as deliberate desert-weathered patina rather than neglect. Welds are intact throughout. A screw-mount point at the top ray allows for wall hanging. The subject matter — sun, saguaro, and running quail-bird — is a classic desert motif that suits interior walls, covered patios, and garden fences alike.
CONDITION
Good. Verdigris-toned finish with age-appropriate wear, scattered rust and oxidation, and finish loss along the lower cross-bar and raised surfaces. All welds intact.
