N. Fulmer Taos Pueblo Watercolor with Rio Pueblo de Taos, Framed
Original watercolor on paper depicting Taos Pueblo, New Mexico, viewed from the south or southwest — the classic plein air vantage that frames the multistory adobe complex of the North House (Hlauuma) against the Sangre de Cristo foothills. The Rio Pueblo de Taos (Red Willow Creek) threads through the riparian foreground, its blue ribbon set among willow, chamisa, and juniper worked in loose, confident washes. Signed lower right in ink, N. Fulmer. Technique and framing style place the work in the mid-to-late 20th century.
Taos Pueblo has been among the most painted subjects in American art since the Taos Society of Artists formed in 1915, and it remains a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This composition captures the most collectible version of the scene — the adobe tiers with the identifiable creek and green foreground rather than a bare architectural study.
CONDITION
Excellent. No damage noted. Colors are fresh and the sheet presents cleanly under glass in its professional double-mat framing.
