Sterling Silver John F. Kennedy Franklin Mint Proof Medal, 1,000 Grains
A sterling silver proof medal from The Franklin Mint honoring President John F. Kennedy. The obverse carries a three-quarter portrait bust ringed by the name JOHN F. KENNEDY, with a sculptor's mark to the lower right. The mirror-finish field sets off the frosted relief in the deep-cameo contrast Franklin Mint proof striking is known for.
The reverse depicts a full-length standing figure of Kennedy in a field, paired with the inscription "…OF THOSE TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, MUCH IS REQUIRED." above a facsimile of his signature. Struck in 1,000 grains of sterling silver and maker-marked, the medal remains encapsulated as issued.
