Porsgrund Norway Mid-Century Modern Geometric Brown Tea Service, 20 Pieces
A 20-piece tea service from Porsgrund Porselænsfabrik of Norway, decorated in a graphic brown-on-white pattern of stacked diamonds, triangles, and divided circles arranged in vertical bands on the hollowware and as a radiating border on the plates. The bone-white porcelain carries the printed Porsgrund anchor mark with pattern number 61 on the underside. The angular, repeating motif is characteristic of Scandinavian tableware design of the early-to-mid 1960s, when Porsgrund's studio output leaned into bold, screen-printed geometry.
The lot pairs six tea cups with a matching cream pitcher and a low open sugar bowl, alongside a set of five tea plates and seven saucers. A complete coffee-table service for entertaining, the pattern reads as clean and architectural at the table — the kind of cohesive set that anchors a mid-century place setting.
