James C. Adamson STS-28 Signed NASA Official Portrait — Inscribed, with COA
An official NASA color portrait of astronaut James C. Adamson, shown in his blue flight suit beside a Space Shuttle stack model with the American flag behind. The print is hand-signed and personally inscribed in black ink: "To Frank / Best Wishes / Jim Adamson / STS 28." The reverse carries the standard NASA release statement and the catalog code JSCIL-414.
Adamson, a West Point graduate and Army aviator, flew as mission specialist aboard STS-28 (Columbia, August 1989) — a dedicated Department of Defense mission — and later commanded payload operations on STS-43 in 1991. These JSC presentation prints were distributed for signing at public appearances and remain a staple of space autograph collecting. A Certificate of Authenticity from Mesilla Valley Estate Sales will be issued with this lot.
CONDITION
Very Good. Clean and bright with a bold, legible ink signature and inscription. Minor handling along the borders; the reverse shows a light crease at the upper edge. No tears or significant soiling.
