Nambé Modernist Freeform Sculptural Bowl, Model 528
A sculptural Nambé bowl in the brand's signature high-luster alloy, cast in a freeform organic profile with a dipping, asymmetric rim that rises to peaks at opposing ends. The undulating contour reads almost like a wave caught mid-motion — equal parts serving vessel and centerpiece object. The underside carries the cast Nambé script logo with model number 528, alongside the original applied care label noting oven and burner use, hand washing, and the maker's instruction that "like silver, Nambé will scratch."
Nambé's metalware, developed in New Mexico and known for its mirror-bright finish and heat-retaining properties, has long bridged functional tableware and modern sculpture. This biomorphic form sits squarely in that tradition — designed to hold fruit, salad, or nothing at all, working as well empty on a console as filled at the table.
CONDITION
Good. Surface shows visible signs of use throughout, including scuffs and fine scratching across the polished alloy consistent with handling and serving use. The original care label is intact but worn. Cast maker's mark and model number remain legible.
