Description

Mirta Autumn Mountain Stream Oil on Canvas, Signed — Carved Wood & Linen Frame

An impasto landscape in oil on stretched canvas, signed "Mirta" lower right, depicting a mountain stream cutting through a stand of white-barked birches in full autumn color. Foreground brush is built up in heavy palette-knife dabs — orange, red, and chartreuse — against the cooler grays of a single sharp peak and the dark wall of evergreens behind. The water carries the eye back through the composition toward the mountain, with reflected light worked in white and pale blue along the current.

Presented in a deep carved wood frame with a recessed linen liner; no glass, allowing the surface texture to read directly. The signature style and subject place this within the popular mid-to-late 20th century plein-air-influenced landscape tradition.

CONDITION

Very Good with no damage. Paint surface is stable with crisp impasto throughout. Frame shows light handling wear consistent with age.
