Johnny Cash on Columbia — Lot of 4 LPs: Fabulous, Ring of Fire, Sound, Cash Show
A four-record run of Johnny Cash on Columbia, spanning his late-1950s label debut through his early-1970s television years. Included: The Fabulous Johnny Cash (CL 1253, mono, 1958), his first Columbia album; The Sound of Johnny Cash (CL 1802, mono, 1962); Ring of Fire — The Best of Johnny Cash (CL 2053 / CS 8853, 1963); and The Johnny Cash Show (KC 30100, stereo, 1970), recorded live at the Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville, Tennessee, featuring the Tennessee Three, Bill Walker's Orchestra, the Statler Brothers, and the Carter Family.
These are single-owner copies, most acquired in the 1960s and 1970s and kept together since. The set tracks Cash across his defining Columbia decade — from the spare Tennessee Two arrangements of Don't Take Your Guns to Town and I Still Miss Someone through the mariachi-tinged title cut of Ring of Fire (produced by Don Law and Frank Jones) and into the network-television run of The Johnny Cash Show, produced by Bob Johnston. Jackets carry Columbia's period catalog numbers and "Guaranteed High Fidelity" logos, useful for pressing identification.
CONDITION
Good overall and single-owner throughout. Records are playable as shown. Jackets show age-appropriate wear: ring wear, edge and corner rubbing, and toning to the back panels; The Johnny Cash Show jacket shows the heaviest scuffing and corner loss. No unpleasant odors.
