Skyland Models Air-India Boeing 707-420 Travel Agency Desk Model — VT-DPM "Makalu"
A large-scale promotional desk model of the Boeing 707-420 in Air-India livery, registration VT-DPM and named "Makalu" at the nose. Manufactured by Skyland Models of 233 Berwick Avenue, Slough, Bucks, England, the model is finished in the classic cream-and-red Air-India scheme with brushed-metal underbelly and wings, full passenger window lines, the Air-India centaur archer marking on the tail, and Devanagari "एअर-इंडिया" titling alongside the English wordmark. The four podded engines carry red-and-silver detailing, and the maker's mark, "Made in England" stamp, and address appear on the underside near the wing root.
These agency models were produced for airline ticket offices and travel bureaus in the jet age, when the 707 fleet carried Air-India onto long-haul international routes. Skyland served as one of the established British model houses supplying carriers across the period. A threaded mounting socket on the underside accepts a display post; the original stand is absent.
CONDITION
Good. Scratching and scuffing throughout the cream fuselage and metal surfaces, with no remarkable damage. Cockpit window decal shows minor lifting and the nose carries scattered surface marks. Display stand is absent; threaded mount socket is intact.
