Roy D. Bridges Jr. Signed Card — Space Shuttle Astronaut, NASA STS-51-F
Autograph card boldly signed in black ink by Roy D. Bridges Jr., pilot of STS-51-F (Spacelab 2) aboard Space Shuttle Challenger in 1985 — the mission that survived the only in-flight main engine shutdown and abort-to-orbit in the shuttle program's history. A retired U.S. Air Force major general and former director of both Kennedy Space Center and Langley Research Center, Bridges flew as a test pilot before joining the astronaut corps.
The signature reads clearly "Roy D. Bridges Jr." in a confident cursive hand across the lower center of the card. The reverse shows faint show-through of the ink with no additional writing.
Authenticity
This card comes directly from the collection of the individual who personally acquired the autograph. A Certificate of Authenticity issued by Mesilla Valley Estate Sales accompanies the piece, along with a signed letter from the original acquirer attesting to its provenance. Both documents transfer to the buyer at pickup.
CONDITION
Very Good. Clean cream card stock with a crisp, fully legible ink signature. Light ink show-through on the verso; minor handling only. No creases or stains.
