Robert Parker NASA Astronaut Signed Index Card — STS-9 & STS-35 Mission Specialist
Black ink autograph of Robert A. R. Parker, NASA astronaut and mission specialist, signed on a 3" × 5" ruled index card and annotated by his hand with his two spaceflights: STS-9, 35. Parker flew aboard STS-9 (Columbia, 1983) on the inaugural Spacelab 1 mission and again on STS-35 (Columbia, 1990) carrying the ASTRO-1 ultraviolet astronomy observatory.
An astronomer by training, Parker earned his doctorate at Caltech before joining NASA's scientist-astronaut group in 1967, later serving as director of the agency's Spaceflight Division. His mission annotation, written below the signature, ties the card directly to a working career that bridged ground-based astronomy and orbital science. The card is unmatted and unframed, suited to display or to housing within a larger flown-mission or astronaut autograph collection.
Provenance
Acquired directly from the signer by the consignor and held in their personal collection since. This lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Mesilla Valley Estate Sales and a signed letter from the consignor attesting to their direct acquisition of the autograph.
CONDITION
Very Good. Clean signature with strong ink contrast on a lightly toned card; faint show-through of the writing is present on the reverse. Minor handling only, no creasing or staining.
