Polished Copper & Brass Flying Dragon Weathervane with Directionals
The dragon figure is repoussé-formed copper with embossed scales running the length of the neck and body, dorsal spines along the back, and a pair of spread wings that catch wind and eye in equal measure. It rides a vertical brass spindle above a horizontal arrow shaft — brass tube, copper fletching with ribbed detailing, forged arrowhead tip — the whole assembly balanced to rotate freely. Four scrolled brass brackets support the cardinal directional cross below, N-E-S-W in bold brass letterforms, with turned copper spheres capping the assembly above and below. The clamp-style mounting bracket and roof pole are included; the whole unit breaks down for transport and reassembles without tools.
CONDITION
Very Good. Copper surfaces are bright throughout with minor patina at solder seams consistent with the piece's age. Light verdigris bloom is present at several brass shaft joints — the honest signature of copper and brass in contact over time. No structural damage, no missing components.
