Hand-Blown Art Glass Vase with Black Feathered Pulled-Loop Pattern on Emerald Green
A tall, hand-blown art glass vase in deep emerald green, decorated with a bold pulled-feather (pulled-loop) pattern in opaque black. The design is executed in the classic technique of trailing dark glass threads around a hot parison and then combing them upward into rhythmic, leaf-like fronds — a method with roots in ancient Egyptian and Roman glass and revived through Bohemian, Italian, and studio-glass traditions. The ovoid body tapers gently toward a narrow polished rim, and the base is ground and polished flat.
The vase is unmarked. The form, weight, and finish quality are consistent with later studio or European decorative production rather than a signed atelier piece. The pulled-feather pattern wraps the full circumference, with the dark threads radiating from the base into a star-like rosette when viewed from below.
CONDITION
Excellent. No chips, cracks, or damage. Polished pontil to the underside. Surfaces are clean and bright.
