1921-D Morgan Silver Dollar, Denver Mint
1921 Morgan Silver Dollar, designed by George T. Morgan and struck in 90% silver at the Denver Mint. D mint mark, located below the wreath on the reverse above the "DO" of DOLLAR.
The 1921 issue marks the final year of Morgan Dollar production and the only year the design was struck at the Denver Mint. After a 17-year hiatus following the suspension of Morgan Dollar production in 1904, the Pittman Act of 1918 mandated the melting of millions of silver dollars and their eventual replacement, prompting the brief 1921 revival before the design was retired in favor of the Peace Dollar later that same year.
