Description

Set of 3 Military Ammo Cans – PA108 S.C.F. Steel

This set features three authentic U.S. military surplus ammunition cans, including two PA108 “Fat 50” models and one standard 5.56mm variant. Made from rugged steel, all cans bear embossed and stenciled military markings indicating specifications and manufacturing details. The “PA108” stamp refers to the U.S. Army designation for this wider, higher-capacity ammunition can, often used to store linked 5.56mm rounds. “S.C.F.” identifies the original contractor—Southwest Container Fabricators, a known U.S. defense supplier. The number “12” typically denotes the production year or lot code. One can is stenciled in yellow with “800 CRTG 5.56MM BALL M855A1 M27 LINK,” indicating it held 800 cartridges of 5.56mm NATO ball ammunition on M27 disintegrating machine gun links. Another can shows a handwritten “1964D” on the latch, a likely unit or field marking added during service.

Each can includes a hinged lid, latch closure, carry handle, and rubber gasket, providing a water-resistant, airtight seal—ideal for tool storage, prepping, or collecting.

Condition:
All three cans are in good used condition with surface scuffing, wear, and minor oxidation from military use. Gaskets remain intact and seals are tight. Latches and handles are fully functional. Writing and markings are visible. See photos for specific wear and details.

Dimensions:

  • Two cans: 7" x 12" x 6" (approx. 6 lbs each)
  • One can: 8.75" x 12.5" x 7.25" (approx. 6 lbs)
