1945 2.25″ Rocket Container Mk 2 Mod 0 — WWII Navy Ammo Crate
Real history doesn’t just live in diaries and battle reports — it’s in the hardware that got the job done. This 2.25″ Rocket Container Mk 2 Mod 0, stenciled “439195 1HWM RV UOS F.S.P 1945,” is one such relic of victory.
Forged in the closing year of World War II, this rugged steel chest did the unglamorous but critical work: carry four rocket heads from the bunker to the carrier, from the carrier to the deck crew, from the deck crew to the wing of a plane bound for the Pacific sky. Heavy-gauge steel, a thick rubber gasket, six sturdy latches — all made to keep high-explosive ordnance safe from salt spray and rolling seas.
Run your hand over the faded lettering, the scratches, the dings. It speaks of a time when gear was built to outlast the war and the men who fought it.
Condition
Solid and ready, just like it was in ‘45: shows honest wear, scratches, scuffing, finish loss, and light oxidation from decades of hard storage. The gasket seals tight and the latches clamp down firm. Markings and period writing remain clearly visible.
