Description

Kodak Brownie Bull’s-Eye Camera Flash Outfit — Boxed Set, 1950s Retro

This original Kodak Brownie Bull’s-Eye Flash Outfit dates from the mid-1950s, a time when Kodak's Brownie line helped democratize photography for American families. Designed by famed industrial designer Arthur H. Crapsey, the Bull’s-Eye camera represents the shift toward durable molded plastics, integrated viewfinders, and intuitive controls that characterized postwar consumer cameras.

This boxed set includes the Bull’s-Eye camera with Kodak Twindar lens, the large circular flash unit, and original packaging with bright mid-century graphics. With its aluminum faceplate, rotary dial lens selector, and rugged black plastic body, the camera captures the confident, modern styling of the Atomic Age. The packaging further amplifies its visual charm—featuring cheerful advertising copy ("Flash... and it’s yours!") and a black-and-white photograph of a child with a doll, reinforcing the camera’s home-use appeal.

The Bull’s-Eye used 620 film and was prized for its simplicity and reliability. The Twindar lens offered adjustable focus zones—scenes, groups, close-ups—and settings for "long" and "instant" shutter speeds, making it a versatile tool for casual photography.

Perfect for collectors, display, or vintage camera collections, this is a quintessential example of Kodak’s user-first design ethos during the golden age of American consumer products.
