Bohemian Ruby Glass Mantle Lusters — 14 Prisms, 16.5" Tall, Gilded 

A pair of Bohemian ruby glass mantle lusters from the early 20th century, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and opulent design. These striking decorative pieces feature vibrant ruby red glass with scalloped rims and are richly embellished with hand-painted enamel floral motifs and ornate gilt scrollwork throughout.

Each luster is adorned with 14 faceted clear crystal prisms, suspended to elegantly capture and reflect light. The elongated spear-form prisms add dynamic texture and brilliance—classic elements of traditional Bohemian design, intended to enhance the glow of candlelight or natural illumination. The pieces likely originate from the Czech region of Karlovy Vary (formerly Karlsbad), an area renowned for high-quality glassmaking.

Condition

In good condition overall, showing moderate wear consistent with age. The ruby glass remains vibrant, and the enamel and gilt decoration exhibit some surface wear. Each luster retains all 14 hanging prisms, though several prisms show flea bites, and one tip is absent (as shown in the final photo). No cracks or structural damage observed.
