1980 Bally Xenon Pinball Machine — Original Glass, Keys, Working
Offered here is a 1980 Bally “Xenon” pinball machine, a landmark title in arcade history and the first Bally machine to feature a female voice, performed by renowned electronic music composer Suzanne Ciani. The game’s sci-fi aesthetic, designed by Paul Faris, pairs striking blue and red cabinet graphics with a two-level playfield and a clear tube ramp. Infinity lighting in the backglass enhances the futuristic vibe and gives the machine a distinct visual presence.
This machine is marked serial number EXE11824, likely placing it near the end of the production run. It retains its original backglass and includes keys for the gameboard and coin lock mechanisms. Sound and lights are operational, and the machine accepts both quarters and Susan B. Anthony dollars, adding a nostalgic touch for players of the era. A complete service manual is included.
An iconic, visually compelling piece for collectors or arcade enthusiasts—this machine offers a vivid snapshot of early ‘80s pinball innovation.
Condition:
Cosmetic:
Good. Original finish with visible wear consistent with age. Some loss to cabinet paint, particularly at the lower front and top left of the score panel. The original backglass is present. Cabinet colors remain vivid. Minor wear on control buttons and side rails.
Functionality:
Good. See the video below! Machine powers on, lights and sound work, and coin operation is functional. All core gameplay functions have been tested. Some bulbs may need replacement. The lock on the coin mechanism is stiff (unlocked, doesn't turn) but complete. Game is operational. However, the right flipper is occasionally inoperable (worn coil plunger). Aside from that, the game plays as intended and responds well to inputs.
Dimensions:
71 x 30.25 x 54 inches
