Waterbury “Standard Green” Mantel Clock — Faux Marble, Cast Gilt Feet, Early 1900s
This early 20th-century mantel clock by the Waterbury Clock Company, known as the “Standard Green,” showcases the brand's dedication to quality and design. The clock features a faux marble painted wood cabinet in rich green with gold veining, adorned with classical column details and cast feet with a gilt finish. The cream-tone dial, marked “Manufactured by Waterbury Clock Co. U.S.A.,” is framed by a brass bezel with convex glass. Original paper labels with instructions and distributor information remain affixed to the back panel. The clock includes its original pendulum and winding key. While the movement is intact and the clock runs, it currently chimes only on the half hour, indicating a need for service. This piece is a testament to Waterbury's craftsmanship and is ideal for collectors or as a vintage accent in period décor.
Condition:
In good condition overall, with finish wear, surface scratches, and signs of age throughout. Notable crazing to the painted faux marble finish, light staining on the dial, and a 3-inch burn mark on the back panel. Clock runs but only chimes on the half hour; service is required. Offered as-is for parts or repair.
Dimensions:
11 x 15 x 6.5 inches
