About the Artist:
Wayne Wendell Chaney was an accomplished American painter, architect, and designer whose work blended the principles of structured design with the raw energy of abstraction. A graduate of Arizona State University (1955) in Architecture/Design, Chaney worked with modernist architect Al Beadle before establishing his own interior design practice. As a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), he infused his paintings with a sense of spatial awareness, making his abstract works particularly striking in contemporary interiors.
While his artwork was primarily created as an extension of his design philosophy, it remains highly collectible for its fusion of expressive brushwork and refined composition. His ability to capture movement, depth, and balance in his abstract works makes this painting a remarkable example of mid-century modern art.
