Description

1940s Mexican Talavera Folk Art Cazuela with Duck Handle – Green & Black Glazed Ceramic

This is a vintage Mexican Talavera cazuela from the 1940s, beautifully hand-painted in a bold green and black color scheme. Crafted using traditional majolica techniques that date back centuries, this piece exemplifies mid-20th-century Mexican folk art. The oval-shaped dish features intricate floral, animal, and geometric patterns, characteristic of authentic Talavera craftsmanship from Puebla. A whimsical duck-shaped handle adds a unique and playful touch, while the matching lid continues the elaborate decorative theme.

Condition:
Good condition overall, showing signs of use consistent with its age. The glaze remains vivid and well-preserved, with no remarkable damage noted. Minor wear and slight glaze imperfections are present, typical of handcrafted vintage ceramics.

Dimensions:
6" x 7" x 13.5" (Height x Width x Length)
Please Note: Soup can in photo is shown for scale.
