About the Artist:
Reginald Murry Pollack (1924–2001) was an esteemed American artist whose work is celebrated for its metaphorical and thematic complexity. A New York native of Hungarian descent, Pollack studied under Moses Soyer before serving in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He continued his studies in Paris under the G.I. Bill, where he was influenced by masters like Brâncuși and became a founding member of Galerie Huit, an influential artist-run gallery in Paris. His oeuvre reflects the influence of Cézanne and Bonnard, blending representational forms with metaphysical themes. Pollack’s work has been showcased at prestigious institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Stanford University.
