About the Artist:

Hugues Claude Pissarro (born 1935) is a renowned French painter with a rich artistic legacy. As the grandson of Camille Pissarro and the son of Paul-Émile Pissarro, he carries on a family tradition of artistic excellence.

Pissarro's artistic journey has been marked by experimentation and evolution. He has explored various styles and techniques, from abstract to avant-garde, leaving a diverse body of work. In 1989, he embarked on a series of contemporary landscapes, signing them under the pseudonym "Isaac Pomié" to differentiate them from his earlier works. Today, these contemporary paintings are signed "Hugues Pissarro dit Pomié."

Pissarro's talent was evident from a young age. He began exhibiting his work at fourteen and later studied art in Paris. His artistic pursuits led him to become a professor of art, sharing his knowledge and passion with students in places like Monaco. Notably, he also taught his daughter, Lélia Pissarro, to paint, passing on the family's artistic legacy.

Pissarro's work has gained international recognition, with exhibitions held in Europe and the United States. His artistic contributions have been acknowledged, as evidenced by his commission to paint a portrait of U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower in 1959.
