Mid-Century Mosaic Glass Tile Table
This heavy mosaic glass round table is made of thick handmade small glass tiles, grouted and set into a concrete and wooden base. The mosaic artist's design commemorates the 1969 Apollo 11 lunar landing, with astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. NASA tested the rocket propulsion systems used in Apollo 11 at the White Sands Missile Range, so this unique mid-century piece ties nicely into the history of Las Cruces. The vintage mosaic top was purchased from a local estate, and paired in recent years with vintage hairpin metal legs. It could be used indoors or on a sheltered outdoor patio.
