Niels O. Møller Model 78 Rosewood Chair
A 1960’s rosewood dining chair designed by Niels Otto Møller, and made by J.L. Moller Mobelfabrik in Denmark. This iconic chair retains its lovely organic sculptural form but has been exposed to excessive heat and dryness. The dark grain markings in the rosewood are still beautiful, especially when oiled.
About Moller: Danish furniture designer Niels Møller is one of the original designers of the Scandinavian modern style. Especially famous for his chairs, he began producing furniture in Aarhus, Denmark in the 40s. He quickly gained fame for his outstanding designs and fine craftsmanship. In the 50s, his chairs were used in the San Francisco Frank Lloyd Wright “Hannah House” project. This chair Model 78 was designed in 1962.
