Description

Edwardian Style Carved Walnut Armoire, Early 20th Century

This Edwardian-style carved walnut armoire dates to the early 20th century, specifically around 1901 to 1910, during the reign of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom. Reflecting the elegance and attention to detail characteristic of the period, this armoire seamlessly blends design elements from the Victorian and Art Nouveau styles.

Features:

  • Ornate Carvings: The armoire is topped with a leaf-carved crown, enhancing its elegant profile.
  • Beveled Mirror: The central door features a wide beveled mirror, flanked by two intricately carved panel doors.
  • Ample Storage: The left and center doors open to reveal nine mounted hooks, a clothes rod, and five hanging hooks, providing extensive storage options. The right door opens to two adjustable shelves and four dovetail drawers, perfect for organizing smaller items.
  • Construction: Solid wood construction with flathead screws and a paneled back.

Condition:
The armoire is in good condition with age-appropriate wear. The original glass and mirror show consistent wear, contributing to its antique charm. There is wear near the handles, feet, and corners, and the key is absent.
