AMAZING Hand-Built End-Grain Cutting Board by Thomas Thorp (KärveWare)
Not only is this wooden cutting board beautiful; this end-grain board is AMAZING to use! Your high-quality knives will thank you! If you don't own some great knives, treat yourself and buy a set to use on this board! Cutting on an end-grain board allows your knife blade to stay sharper longer, and if cared for properly, your board will show no or very little amount of use! We have owned and used one of these boards for several years, and LOVE ours! Seriously, our board looks almost as good as the day it was made! Black Walnut makes up the body of this board, and the edge is African Lacewood. See the closeup photo and check out the absolute beauty of the lacewood edge. There are four quality adjustable rubber feet on the bottom of this board, so the board will not be shifting while you are cutting on it. The high-quality, meticulously made board was created by woodworker/artist/musician Thomas Thorp, of La Luz, NM. (Sadly and unfortunately, we have heard that Thomas is no longer creating boards.) This awesome end-grain cutting board is valued at $500+. As far as we can find out, there probably will never be more cutting boards of this high quality made by Thomas ever again.
About the Artist:
Thomas Thorp, La Luz, NM
Thomas grew up in Cloudcroft and La Luz, NM. He is talented in so many ways, including woodworking and music. Sadly, we and many of his friends have fallen out of touch with him, and do not know what he is up to currently. Unfortunately, we have heard that Thomas is no longer creating these gorgeous cutting boards, which is a total bummer. This board was donated to assist 1CaT by our good friend Carol Hale, who purchased numerous boards from OTBP while we carried them for a few years.
