"Masked Rabbit", Painting, Mixed Media on Wrapped Canvas by Michael Copeland
Created using acrylic paints and mixed media, this fun and entertaining painting emanated from the imagination of Alamogordo artist and painter Michael Copeland. Michael donated his whimsical "Masked Rabbit" to us a couple of years ago to help 1CaT, and we are very grateful for his assistance for our kitties. Check out the closeup photo to see some details of "Masked Rabbit", including the logo of Off the Beaten Path on the breast of the good doctor's lab coat. Valued at $325, "Masked Rabbit" has been a point of interest and entertainment for our customers in our Cloudcroft, NM gift shop/gallery, Off the Beaten Path, since being donated by Michael.
About the Artist:
Michael Copeland, Alamogordo, NM
Michael works in two- and three- dimensional mixed media, watercolor, acrylic, oil, prismacolor and graphite on rag paper, masonite and canvas. Michael’s “abstracted” realism uses deep layers of color and line, struck by his sense of humor and subtle play. He has been creating works of art since the 1980s and was an art educator for 27 years, retiring in 2008.
