"Mr. Ruby, Too", Painting, Mixed Media on Wrapped Canvas, by Michael Copeland
Our longtime and dear friend Shannon Porch purchased this colorful and intriguing painting from our gift shop/gallery Off the Beaten Path several years ago. Shannon fell in love with Mr. Ruby as soon as she saw him, and decided on a whim that he must hang in her home. At the time, she did not know artist Michael Copeland personally, but he soon would become her art teacher and friend. When Shannon passed prematurely last year, her kind husband Doug wanted 1CaT to benefit from Shannon's love of art, and he donated "Mr. Ruby, Too" (and "Shannon's Rabbit") to help our kitties. Check out the closeup photo to see some details of "Mr. Ruby, Too". Selling originally for $900, because she loved this character of Michael's so much, this interesting painting has sentimental value for many of us who loved our dear Shannon.
About the Artist:
Michael Copeland, Alamogordo, NM
Michael works in two- and three- dimensional mixed media, watercolor, acrylic, oil, prismacolor and graphite on rag paper, masonite and canvas. Michael’s “abstracted” realism uses deep layers of color and line, struck by his sense of humor and subtle play. He has been creating works of art since the 1980s and was an art educator for 27 years, retiring in 2008.

Excellent - no condition issues of any kind.
