Antique Chinese Large Black Lacquered Trunk with Court Scenes
This trunk features an exquisite and colorful chinoiserie decor depicting a court scene. The gold and red tones stand out beautifully on the black ground. The central scene is surrounded by friezes of flowers,that give a lively touch to the ensemble. The rectangular lid, fitted with iron hardware, open to reveal a nice storage compartment, while the sides present C-scroll handles. Chains have been added, allowing the top to remain securely open without damage.
