Description

Small Flown Segment Of Thermal Tile From Columbia STS-1 1981
"This is a segment of thermal tile which protected Space Shuttle Orbiter "Columbia" (STS-1) from the heat of reentry on its first flight April 12-14, 1981."
This was presented to NASA employees who were instrumental in the Columbia program. It has been preserved and cared for.
Also included is a vial of what is purported to be moon dust.
This is an amazing piece of NASA and space exploration history.
