Coyote - Native lore on the coyote is a story about how the coyote stole fire to help the natives. The fire beings flew after him and touched his tail as he got away, that's why the coyotes tail is white. As he ran down the mountainside the fire scorched the squirrels tail, That's why it's turned up. He delivered the fire to the freezing natives and that is how fire was made. He Shows the moon phases on his collar and the sun set on his pouch to show his importance in the cycle of the natives life and carried fire and the story told.
