Artist Biography:
A cinematographer by trade, Ken Marthey moved to New Mexico for his health after World War II and settled in Corrales in 1947, where he built an adobe house. Through Harvey Caplin, Marthey became involved in making a documentary about HIspanic life in New Mexico titled And Now Miguel. The film won the Robert Flaherty Prize for outstanding documentary films, and its success led to job offers in New York, where he worked for 20 years with major advertising firms. In 1971, he returned to New Mexico.
