Description
A truly unusual, and possibly valuable, item -- In the donor's words, "A set of 23 units, lead toy soldiers from the early 1950’s plus two Army cars from the same period. They sell on E-Bay for a minimum of $8 each. Sold as a set they should yield at least $200." This cataloguer should add that this set might appeal to the "inner child" of the recipient, or to the armchair warrior, or to the ambivalent veteran (ambivalent, as a matter of life experience, toward war as an undertaking, or ambivalent regarding experience of serving in a combat zone, an experience that provides a mixture of memories from terrifying memories to fond memories). It is the opinion of this cataloguer that, even though the manufacture may be of the early 50's, the inspiration is WWII.
