Swirled Bakelite Rotating Poker Chip Caddy with Radio Shack CB Tokens & Card
A rotating round poker chip caddy cast in swirled brown tortoiseshell Bakelite/Catalin phenolic resin, dating to the 1960s–1970s. The circular body carries eight large chip slots ringing a center divider bar, with two additional slots sized for playing card decks. The center medallion is molded with an "SG" monogram encircled by a laurel wreath, and a dark brown arched plastic carry handle spans the top. The caddy swivels for easy access to all stations and holds approximately 240 chips fully loaded.
This is a complete assembled set. The included chips are aluminum Radio Shack "Citizens Band Bonus Dollar" promotional tokens — Paramount CB radio giveaways with an expiration of July 31, 1977, a tidy artifact of the late-1970s CB radio craze. Two period card decks accompany the caddy: a Hoyle Products "Nevada Finish" deck (a division of Atwater Group Inc., ©1983, St. Paul, MN) and a U.S. Playing Card Co. "Poker Jumbo Index" deck (Cincinnati, OH)./p>
CONDITION
Good with scratching and age-appropriate wear as shown. Two small edge nicks, but no cracks or structural issues; the swivel action works and the piece is a solid, genuine Bakelite example.
