Tin-Lined Copper Roasting Pan with Brass Handles, Twin-Handled Roaster
A handsome twin-handled roasting pan in heavy-gauge copper with a hand-tinned interior and cast brass loop handles secured by copper rivets. The rectangular form with rounded corners and gently flared walls is a classic professional roaster profile, well suited to poultry, joints, and gratins where copper's even heat conduction earns its keep. The rolled rim and dovetailed seams speak to solid construction, while the tin lining shows the mottled, softly worn surface expected of a working pan.
The pan is maker-marked "MADE IN KOREA" stamped on one brass handle, dating it to later export production rather than the earlier French or English ateliers this form imitates. The exterior carries a warm patina with scattered oxidation spots, and the copper base shows the fine surface scratches of genuine kitchen use. A functional, decorative piece equally at home on a pot rack or the stovetop.
CONDITION
Good with finish wear and loss throughout. The tin lining is mottled with age-appropriate wear and light copper showing through at high points; the exterior carries oxidation spotting and fine scratches. Polishing has been left to the next owner.
