Drexel Mid-Century Walnut Full-Size Bed Frame, Model 7160
A Drexel mid-century bed frame in walnut, comprising headboard, footboard, and side rails with center support slats. The design reads pure early-1960s American Modern: rounded post uprights, floating recessed panels framed by open apertures at each corner, and tapered legs capped in brass ferrules now carrying a green verdigris patina. The stamped model number 7160 appears on the interior rail. Unmarked otherwise; identification is by known Drexel design.
The construction pairs figured walnut panels with contrasting turned posts, a hallmark of the era's casegoods lines where sculptural detail met production efficiency. The full-size footprint and clean lines suit a bedroom set or a standalone statement piece. Comes disassembled for convenient transportation.
CONDITION
Good. Age-appropriate finish wear throughout with light finish loss, most notably a scuffed area to the center of the headboard panel. Brass leg caps show green verdigris patina consistent with age. Joinery is sound.
