Hand-Painted Carved Wood Folk Art Fish, Mexico, School of Six
A school of six carved and hand-painted wooden fish from Mexico, each worked as a flat silhouette with carved fin detail and finished in high-contrast enamels. The large lead fish carries a painted "scene within a scene" — two smaller stylized fish swimming across a wavy blue field bounded by a black dorsal ridge, a yellow head with a bold black eye, and a red forked tail.
The group descends in scale from the large statement fish down to a trio of palm-sized swimmers, giving a natural staggered arrangement for wall or shelf display. Surface treatments vary piece to piece: dotted and striped bodies, gold-line detailing, a black angelfish speckled with white and jewel-tone dashes, and an orange-and-green fish with a painted face motif. Sold together as a coordinated set of six.
CONDITION
Good with only minor imperfections and no remarkable damage. Paint is bright and largely intact across all six pieces; expect light handling wear and small paint variances at carved edges.
