Italian Ulrich-Style Demilune Console — Iron, Patinated Shelf & Beveled Glass
An Italian demilune console table in the manner of Guglielmo Ulrich (1904–1977), late 20th century, blending refined ironwork with luxurious surface treatment. The iron frame carries a dark espresso-bronze patina and rises on three tapered square legs joined by an arched iron stretcher that echoes the half-round silhouette. Scroll-form iron brackets secure the top to the frame — a hand-worked detail that marks this as artisan production rather than flat-pack manufacture. The removable top is a substantial 1/2" thick beveled clear glass demilune, a quality indicator collectors watch for in iron-base consoles.
The lower shelf is the piece's most distinctive gesture: patinated metal, not wood veneer, finished in a warm copper-brown surface treatment that convincingly mimics organic grain while remaining entirely metal. This is postwar Milanese taste in miniature — engineered iron paired with rich, tactile surfaces. Its transitional lines suit contemporary and traditional interiors equally, working as an entry, sofa, or hall console.
CONDITION
Good. The iron frame and patinated shelf present well with finish intact. The glass top shows scratching consistent with use. Glass is removable for transport.
