Italian Two-Tier Iron & Beveled Glass Side Table, Ulrich Style,
An Italian two-tier round side or cocktail table, built entirely of iron and finished in a striking bicolor scheme — matte black lacquer on the circular tiers paired with a warm terracotta/copper-toned finish on the four tapered legs and the sculptural scroll bracket connectors that join leg to frame. A removable beveled clear glass top, 1/2" thick, sits above the solid lower shelf, giving the piece its floating, layered profile. The lot is unmarked, with no maker's label or stamp present.
The design sits squarely in the Milanese decorative tradition in the manner of Guglielmo Ulrich (1904–1977), whose two-tone furniture combined lacquered surfaces with warm accent finishes and refined metalwork. The scroll bracket joinery, tiered glass-top format, and bicolor treatment are all consistent with that aesthetic. Confirmed all-metal construction and a weight of 70+ lbs mark this as a substantial period piece rather than a lightweight later reproduction.
CONDITION
Good and sturdy overall with age-appropriate wear. The black lacquer tiers show scattered fine scratches and light surface marks consistent with use; the terracotta leg finish shows minor scuffs and small paint losses. Beveled glass top is intact and removable.
