L.G. Wright Wreathed Cherry Vaseline Uranium Glass Cream Pitcher
A press-molded cream pitcher in L.G. Wright's Wreathed Cherry pattern, executed in vaseline (uranium) glass. The body carries high-relief clusters of cherries wreathed in leaves and floral sprigs, wrapping the front and sides above a paneled, ribbed lower register. A beaded, scalloped rim runs from the pulled spout around to the applied C-scroll handle. Under ultraviolet light the glass fluoresces the bright green characteristic of its uranium oxide content — the primary draw for vaseline collectors and confirmed here in the second image.
L.G. Wright Glass Co. of New Martinsville, West Virginia (Founded 1937) built its reputation on sourcing molds from earlier American pressed-glass makers and issuing both reproductions and original patterns in vaseline, opalescent, and colored glass.. Wreathed Cherry was made across a full table service, making individual serving pieces like this creamer useful to set builders.
CONDITION
Very Good. No chips or cracks to the rim, spout, handle, or foot — notable in pressed glass, where spout and rim damage is common. Strong color saturation and clean relief throughout.
