Tiffin-Franciscan Madeira Plum Tumblers, Set of 7 — Amethyst Pressed Glass
Set of seven Tiffin-Franciscan Madeira tumblers in the sought-after Plum colorway — a deep amethyst that reads rose-purple against the light. Each glass carries the pattern's signature hammered texture across the upper body and a single band of raised circular medallions ringing the lower body above a scalloped base. Mold-pressed and unmarked, consistent with standard Tiffin production; the Madeira line was never marked on individual pieces.
Tiffin Glass Company of Tiffin, Ohio, produced the Madeira line from the late 1960s into the 1970s, and it became a Mid-Century Modern barware staple prized for its saturated color and sculptural form. Complete groupings are uncommon — most lots surface as broken sets of four to six — making this intact seven-piece set a stronger offering. Plum ranks among the more desirable Madeira colors and coordinates readily with an eclectic palette.
CONDITION
Excellent throughout. No chips, cracks, or cloudiness — a clean result for colored pressed glass, where damage shows immediately against the saturated tone.
