Stephen Hillenburg Signed SpongeBob SquarePants Bubble Scene Fan Print
A SpongeBob SquarePants fan print hand-signed in black marker along the lower margin by series creator Stephen Hillenburg. The scene captures the show's signature bubble-blowing motif: SpongeBob perched on a coral outcrop with wand and soap bottle, Sandy Cheeks in her air-helmet suit riding a bubble, Squidward suspended in a bubble geometry gag overhead, and Patrick seated in the sand catching a bubble. The airbrushed Bikini Bottom backdrop — sponge-textured rock, red tube coral, and water-column gradient — reflects the hand-rendered background style that defined the early seasons.
Hillenburg, a marine-science educator turned animator, created the series for Nickelodeon in 1999; his signed material carries direct significance for animation collectors given his passing in 2018. The signature sits in the white lower border beneath the Patrick figure, executed in a bold looping hand consistent with his known autograph. Presented unframed on the original print stock.
CONDITION
Fair. The paper shows visible creases across the sheet and a worn section with minor surface loss and soiling within the printed bubble ring at upper right. Handling wear and light scuffing to the glossy surface throughout; edges show soft bumping. Signature remains bold and legible.
