Mexican Terracotta Chiminea Fireplace on Wrought Iron Stand
A three-piece Mexican-style terracotta chiminea, hand-formed in the traditional bulbous-belly form with a tall flared chimney neck and set into a scrolled wrought iron stand. The neck and shoulder carry impressed decoration — arched panels and teardrop medallions filled with a fine crosshatch grid, worked over a natural buff-and-blush clay body.
The chiminea separates into three components — chimney top, fire bowl, and iron base — for straightforward handling and placement. The wide front mouth opens to a smoke-blackened interior consistent with wood-burning use, while the flared collar draws smoke up and away. A functional outdoor fireplace with the sculptural presence to hold a patio corner on looks alone.
CONDITION
Good with honest signs of use. Interior shows heavy fire blackening and soot consistent with burning; exterior clay has surface abrasion, mineral bloom, and finish wear throughout. Iron stand shows expected paint loss and light surface oxidation.
