Whitetail Antler Taper Candle Holder, 5-Point Shed
A single 5-point whitetail deer antler mounted horizontally as a taper candle holder, arching from its burr end up through the beam and tines. A turned antler cup fitted with a bone collar sits atop the beam to receive a standard taper candle; the socket retains traces of green wax from prior use. The natural curve of the beam and the splayed tines let the piece rest low and wide across a mantel or table, the pearled burr anchoring one end.
The antler is marked Vhr. at the burr crown, shown in the supplemental reference image. Rustic in character, it makes a natural-history accent equally at home in a lodge, cabin, or study.
CONDITION
Very Good, as shown. Natural surface checking and age-appropriate patina throughout the antler; green wax residue remains within the candle socket. Tines and burr are intact.
