Handcrafted Steel Wire Garden Leaf Sculptures, Pair — Nested & Veined Forms
A complementary pair of steel wire garden sculpture stakes in a folk/studio metalwork style, mid-to-late 20th century. The forms play off one another: a tall lanceolate leaf built from five graduated elliptical loops fanning from a central stem node, and a broader ovate leaf rendered with a central midrib and undulating horizontal wire lines that read as naturalistic veining. Both are bent-and-welded solid steel rod, unmarked, each mounted on a square U-shaped ground stake for landscape installation.
CONDITION
Good. Both pieces carry a uniform brown-rust oxidation from extended outdoor use — authentic and desirable for the garden aesthetic. All welds are intact with no breaks, confirming structural integrity. Age-appropriate wear throughout; no maker's mark present.
